A pulsating tie in Airlie Park this afternoon saw Leinster come back from the dead to overcome a brilliant, spirited performance by Castleknock, and claim the Adamstown Cup for the 2025 season.

An inclement morning saw the Minor 2 Cup fall foul of the weather, however after a brilliant effort by the team at Adamstown CC, the ground was recovered to play the Adamstown Cup Final at 4pm. Having won the toss, Castleknock elected to bat first, and in the face of a brilliant all-round effort by Leinster's attack, fell from 29/2 to 39/7 from the 5th to 10th overs, Mick Scully and Muhammad Muhammad bowling a excellent spells in particular, before a fine recovery saw them double their score for the loss of their last two wickets, posting 78, a score which seemed extremely unlikely at the halfway stage.

Leinster's reply began extremely slowly, and angst grew quickly on the side-line, at the halfway stage they were 27/3, and things got no better until Shreyas Pawar got hold of a couple of lusty blows to bring the side back into things. With 37 needed off the last five overs, Abhinav Singh came to the party and found the boundary, seeing 9 needed off the last over of the innings. A two was followed by the moment that swung the match, as a catch dropped on the boundary at long-on trickled for four, bringing Leinster to need three off the last four balls, and when the penultimate ball of the innings also found the rope, the sideline went ballistic, as Leinster completed a sensational comeback to win by 2 wickets with one ball to spare.

Congratulations to Leinster on this victory, an excellent performance under pressure to see of a terrific Castleknock side, and brilliant achievement for the season. Our thanks as always to Adamstown for their excellent hosting of the day.
