It was a truncated afternoon of action in the IBI Corporate Finance Premier League, as just two results saw Leinster and Pembroke both securing wins in shortened run-chases.
In Anglesea Road, a re-jigged Merrion batting order proved little in the way of change, as regular opener Swapnil Modgill was the star of the show making an unbeaten 95, as only John Anderson could add any meaningful support, making 23. Three wickets for Gareth Delany the pick of the bowlers, whilst Jai Moondra and Mark Tonge both chipped in with 2/27 and 2/39 respectively. The chase also faltered badly, as Melvin Devaraj and Peter Forkin both took two early wickets, however from 70/7, an excellent stand between Tonge (43*) and Bilal Azhar was what ultimately guided the team to a two wicket win, with two overs remaining.

Meanwhile, in Park Avenue, Pembroke restricted Railway Union to just 114/9 in their 30 overs, as there were two wickets for each of Paul Lawson, Andy Balbirnie and Andrew Boulton, as only Digamber Mishra (28) could put up any meaningful resistance. The chase saw Pembroke off to their customary flying start, as Tim Tector dominated the opening stand, making 41 off 25 balls. Balbirnie also made 41, taking 45 deliveries to do so, however when that pair were dismissed, Macdara Cosgrave's unbeaten 17 pushed his side over the finish line, to a 7 wicket win with more than 10 overs to spare.
