NAAS SEAL ADAMSTOWN CUP WITH CONFIDENT RUN CHASE!

It was a solid performance from Naas with the ball that set up a relatively straightforward run chase for the Kildare side today, as they claimed the Adamstown Cup for the 2026 season.

Having won the toss, Naas elected to bowl first, and they started off very well, keeping Stillorgan to just 34/2 in the opening six overs. They then turned the screw further through the middle part of the innings, as three more wickets fell by the 14th over, with the score progressing to 89.

This meant the competition debutants struggled to accelerate at the back end, and managed only 37 runs from the final six overs to set a modest but definitely below par score of 126/8.

Naas’s chase started excellently, the opening pair adding a well paced partnership of 70 off the first 11 overs, meaning they were well on top of the rate by the time any wickets fell.

However, wickets did fall and Stillorgan managed to claw their way back into proceedings, unfortunately for them though even when they had restricted the equation back to 35 from the last 6 overs, Naas were always just one good over away from victory.

They got just that in the 18th, as needing 15 to win they took down 11 of them in one over, and when the winning runs were hit, there were still 8 deliveries to spare, giving Naas the Adamstown Cup for this season!
