CRICKET LEINSTER CHILD SAFEGUARDING CHECK LIST - 2025

1) Have you reviewed your Child Safeguarding Policy? Is your Safeguarding Statement on your club website and ready to be displayed on your clubhouse noticeboard?

2) Have you completed your Safeguarding Risk Assessment for 2025? Your Risk Assessment must be reviewed every two years. Have you taken appropriate action where needed?

3) Have you appointed your Club Children’s Officer(s) and Designated Liaison Person and notified their names and contact details to Cricket Leinster? Are the CCOs and DLPs contact details in literature sent to parents, and displayed on your club noticeboard? Have your CCOs and DLP completed the relevant Safeguarding course (2 or 3)? Upcoming courses are advertised on the Cricket Leinster website www.cricketleinster.ie/events SG1 must be completed before SG2 or SG3 can be taken.
Safeguarding 1 – Basic Awareness to be completed by all sports leaders working with children.
Safeguarding 2 – Club Children’s Officer Course.
Safgguarding 3 – Designated Liaison Person Course.
Have all your youth volunteers/coaches completed the Basic Awareness Safeguarding 1 course?
These courses should be repeated every three years.
An online refresher for Safeguarding 1 is available which, if completed before the end date of the certificate, will extend it for a further 3 years (one extension only). There is no refresher for SG2 and SG3. https://www.sportireland.ie/ethics/safeguarding-1-online-refresher
4) Have you completed Garda vetting for all relevant employees and volunteers, i.e., all those who will have regular and ongoing contact with youth members which would facilitate a relationship of trust to develop. Regular contact can be defined as at least once a week.

5) Have you drawn up codes of conduct for coaches/volunteers, parents and youth members which have been signed, or will be signed at the start of the season?
