  3. Civil Service 4 dominate Division 15
28th July 2015 by Paul Reynolds

Civil Service 4 dominate Division 15

Division 15 has just about passed the half way stage of the season, with 29 of the 56 games played. However, three scorecards have not yet been submitted (Merrion/Dundalk, Rush/Greystones & Merrion/Balbriggan) so this analysis is lacking those.

Civil Service 4 have dominated the season so far, and with only five matches left, cannot finish lower than 54%. It is unlikely they will finish in the bottom half, and have to be the favourites for the title. Behind them, the next five teams all have a chance of being in the shake up for the top....or the bottom depending on how things go. Dundalk 2 and Merrion 8 are adrift at the bottom, and need points - but with over half their season left.

Service's march to the top has obviously been helped by their powerful batting line up, with the top three players - Munir Khan, Syfuzzaman Khan and Mark Kilroy all passing the 200 run barrier - Kilroy helped by 100 against Balbriggan in mid May, one of three centuries scored in the division (Phil Jonker of Greystones and Thomas Stevens of Phoenix are the others)

Civil Service's batting may be strong, but their bowling isn't much worse. Munir Khan and Syfuzzaman Khan appear again, joined by Abul Shapon. Aidan McDermott of Clontarrf squeezes in amongst the Civil Servants in third place.

Large partnerships have been few and far between in Division 15, but perhaps not surprisngly, Civil Service once again dominate, taking no fewer than four of the ten.

Without wishing to repeat ourselves, this division really is the Civil Service show. Munir Khan is the top fielder, with seven catches.

It is of no surprise that another Civil Service player is leading the wicket keeping table. Step forward a man who is Civil Service through and through, Dave Nugent.
