SECOND XI PREMIER LEAGUE INDIVIDUAL AWARDS CONFIRMED (SEPT 17TH)

The final set of individual awards which we are announcing this week are from the Second XI Premier League, where an excellent team effort saw Leinster 2 crowned Champions for the second time in the past three seasons.

This season’s awards see two prizes headed for Merrion, whilst Pembroke, Balbriggan and Clontarf are all represented.

BOOKMAN CUP (BATTING)

Just two batters passed the qualification mark for the Bookman Cup, second place in this instance goes to Swaraj Batham of Civil Service, who’s 559 run tally came at an average of 55.9, featuring a highest score of 199*, one of two times he passed three figures in this competition.

However, 97 runs ahead in aggregate and 26.1 clear in terms of average, the winner of the Bookman Cup this season is Sanil Gupta. Hero of Pembroke’s Premier League title win last weekend, his impressive season in the Second XI Premier League saw him piling up 656 runs at an average of 82, with his highest score of the season of 217 not out coming in a losing cause!

OULTON CUP (BOWLING)

The Oulton Cup is headed for Anglesea Road this season, after Peter Forkin’s final day 5/8 propelled him both beyond the qualifying mark of 20 wickets, but also cut his average right down to 8.92.

He finishes clear of Civil Service pair Roshin Raviprasad and Vijay Adhikari, who claimed 23 and 21 wickets respectively, however the gap in terms of average was over 14, leaving them well behind the clear winner.

CULLEN CUP (WICKET-KEEPING)

The Cullen Cup for the leading wicket-keeper is won by Emad Uddin of Balbriggan, who’s 13 appearances saw him claiming 13 catches and 4 stumpings behind the wicket, leaving him one dismissal clear of Merrion’s Olliver Molins, with a further three back to Leinster’s Tristen de Beer in third.

FIELDING MEDAL

The leading fielder in 2026 is also from Merrion, Cormac McMahon’s 10 catches sees him finishing two catches clear of his closest rivals, with Kaustabh Apsunde of Leinster and Dhiraj Shetty of Civil Service both claiming 8 apiece.

WEBSTER CUP (ALL-ROUNDER)

Finally the Webster Cup for the leading all-rounder in the Second XI Premier League sees five different clubs represented in the top five in the standings. Three of these are players who have already been mentioned, with Vijay Adhikari featuring in second this time having been third in the bowlers, leading batter Sanil Gupta sits in fourth, whilst third placed wicket-keeper Tristen de Beer is ranked fifth.

The two not mentioned so far occupy third and first places, with Balbriggan’s Abdul Samad’s tally of 734 points seeing him feature on the podium, however at the top of the pile is Clontarf’s Yash Bala who was 56 points clear of his nearest rival. His 488 runs and 19 wickets saw him piling up 868 points to claim the Webster Cup for 2026.
