OCC Leagues to be decided this weekend

There has been plenty of coverage concerning the destination the Division 1 and 2 titles this week, but are there any other divisions that can be decided?

The short answer is that not nearly as amany as you'd imagine. We may be in the first week of September, but as it stands only one team has officially been crowned champions - Merrion 5 in Division 7. So who else will be able to rest on their laurels after this weekend?

Starting in Division 3, Leinster 2 have been clear for some time, and can finally confirm the league title if they gain four points on Sunday away to Pembroke 2.

Divisions 4 and 5 are far too close to call, with the top three teams in both still fighting hard (YMCA 2, Railway Union 2 and Merrion 2 in Division 4 and Pembroke 3, Merrion 3 and Railway Union 3 in Division 5)

Division 6 is the widest open league there is, where any of the top 5 are mathematically still in with a chance. Division 7 is done and dusted, whilst Division 8 is definitely between Leinster 5 and Pembroke 4. However with neither of them playing this weekend, we will have to wait a bit longer

Division 9 is a four horse race (Dundrum 2, Halverstown 1, North County 4 and Adamstown 1) whihc again won't be decided this weekend.

Division 10 is a straight battle between Civil Service 3 and Pembroke 5 - their title decider is still to be refixed, so the action in theis division will last for a few more weeks yet.

Now one that has crept under the radar. Rush's defeat to Knockharley last Saturday has meant that Dundalk are crowned champions of Division 11 in their first season. Congrats to all involved

Division 12 is a battle between the 5th teams of Clontarf, Phoenix and North County - it's destination will wait for another week

Nearly there - Division 13 is betweem Clontarf 6 and Pembroke 6 - but neither are playing this weekend, so i't sanother one to be put on the long finger.

Finally Division 14 is between Halverstown 2, Knockharley 3 and Merrion 8. Halverstown and Knockharley play on Saturday, but the league title will have to wait for another day - although the winners will be very much in the driving seat
