A new leader emerges from the pack this week as B. Parchment [NCCC] had a magnificent week. In a T20 game he not only took 6/8 from his 4 overs, he also scored a century. A shed-load of points in one game has taken him from 12th last week to the top of the pile this week. Last week’s leaders, Harry Tector [YMCA] and M Collier [Clontarf] have fallen to 5th and 7th places. Simranjit Singh [YMCA] scored a century to see off Pembroke in the Leinster Senior Cup semi-final to move from 58th place to 15th this week.
Six Leinster Clubs had made it to the quarter-finals of the Bob Kerr Irish Senior Cup where they were joined by CSNICC and Warringstown. However, in the semi-finals it will be only two Leinster Clubs, Pembroke and Merrion who will enter the draw with the two NCU teams. Warringstown’s Ruhan Pretorious of Warringstown scored six 6’s in an over to assist his club past Clontarf on his way to 101 off 49 balls. Of course Bob Kerr performances are not included here, which doesn’t help Jono Cook who took 4 wickets in 6 balls to edge Pembroke past Malahide on Sunday.
Munir Khan [CSCC] displaced Willie Clarke [Phoenix] from the top of the best bowling table with an amazing 8/5, whilst also scoring 44*. This is the best bowling figures since last June when Syfuzzaman Khan did exactly the same also for CSCC. It also sees him rise to 6th overall.
8 July sees the new starring list in effect. We all know the OCC keep a close eye on players who have not played for a while and instructs clubs to move them out of the list, but will any note be taken of performances and instruct Clubs to move players on account of form?
Some of the Clubs’ names have been shortened. ACC is Adamstown whilst NCCC is North County and CSCC is Civil Service. CCCC is Cork County and NKCC, North Kildare. How should Clubs be referenced in this column? Previously Terenure had been ‘The Titans’ and Railway Union remain R&SPU. Has anyone any preferences for references? Please do keep any suggestions fit for a family audience...

Candidates for best tea of the summer....
Where are you getting your best teas from this season? Here are my candidates thus far.
· YMCA – superb curry and rice, tasty and not too hot.
· Civil Service – the buffet that continues to please.
· Lucan – lack of facilities overcome by variety of unique and tasty sandwiches and warm welcome.
