North Kildare won the toss and chose to bat first on a sunny afternoon in Dublin 6W.
Terenure bowled tidily for the first 29 overs and in doing so reduced Kildare to 111/8 with Yash Kalasannavar (25) providing the only meaningful contribution with the bat. During this period, Thomas Shand bowled a tight and penetrative spell for the home side finishing with 4/25 off his 10 overs including the prize wicket of Kalasannavar.

Unfortunately for Terenure, the next period of the innings saw the wheels come off as North Kildare staged a major recovery.
Asadullah Ahmadzai (batting at 5), supported by Nicholas Hunter (at number 10) quickly posted a further 84 runs for the 9th wicket in just 9.2 overs to change the course of the innings.
Ahmadzai was finally dismissed in the 39th over for 80 (13x4, 2x6) when Terenure introduced their seventh bowler (Kashish Gandhi). Hunter was then removed the next over as the Kildare innings concluded on 197 with over 10 overs unused.
In reply, the Terenure innings was underpinned by a solid, match-winning partnership of 140 off exactly 30 overs for the third wicket between overseas player, Hankce Von Rauenstein (68) and Sid Nair (77*). Von Rauenstein was dismissed with the scores level on 197 leaving Zeeshan Mumtaz to hit the winning run!

A comfortable win in the end for the home side by 7 wickets with 11 balls to spare.

The other scheduled fixture in the First Team League saw Civil Service awarded full points as Cork Harlequins couldn’t field a team and conceded a walk-over. The points from the walk-over together with Terenure’s win over North Kildare has enabled Civil Service to finish the weekend in top spot with just two rounds to go.
