This evening saw the culmination of the Gresham House Girls U11 Cup, as Clontarf took home the prize off the back of a scintillating bowling display which they then backed up with a disciplined batting performance.

The Hills won the toss and elected to bat, they were however under siege early, their first pair only able to contribute 15 for the loss of 2 wickets. The second pair were able to steady the ship, they added 21 before the midway point and crucially lost no wickets. Clontarf fought back late in the innings, there were runs aplenty for The Hills however in doing so they lost wickets and eventually finished on 93/8. Aisling Kingsman was the pick of the bowlers with 3/8.

Clontarf’s chase was one that was underpinned by control, they had added a sedate 46 at the midway point but had importantly only lost one wicket to that point. From there the Bulls’ were in a good position and they continued in the same assured manner adding a further 47 in the second half, again only losing two more wickets in bringing their team total to 93 and taking home the trophy for 2025. The Hills fought hard but could not find the bowling partnerships to break down a resolute Clontarf batting display.

Cricket Leinster would like to thank Gresham House for their support of youth cricket in Leinster for 2025 and Clontarf for hosting tonight’s game.
