Cricket fans are expected to gather at Corkagh Park, Clondalkin on Saturday, 31st August, to experience a spectacular exhibition of Gathering BLITZ Cricket hosted by Adamstown Cricket Club in association with Cricket Ireland, Cricket Leinster and South Dublin County Tourism.
After successfully hosting international visitors from both England and Wales during July, as part of 'The Gathering' 2013 Events Calendar, Adamstown Cricket Club will once again be the centre of attention for the shorter playing format that sport lovers around the world adore.
This 6-a-side tournament will see eight teams from around the country competing against each other in one of the most scenic and hidden public parks within the South Dublin County Council catchment area.
Organised as a fun day, the BLITZ event will be a free family event, with preliminary group matches kicking off at 09:30am on Saturday morning and culminating into a thrilling Gathering BLITZ Championship Final which starts at 17:00.
Prize distribution ceremony will be held after the finals just before 18:00 and the occasion will be blessed by the honourable Lord Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Councillor Dermot Looney.
