St Stithians boys’ preparatory school from Johannesburg paid their first visit to Dublin several weeks ago playing games against local club and provincial opposition. They had participated in two festivals in Somerset, England and finished their 24-day visit to Ireland and the UK with games against club opposition in Cornwall. Former Leinster league professionals Bryn Thomas and Wim Jansen are currently employed at the school who have embarked on overseas tours no fewer than fourteen occasions.
The boys along with five staff members thoroughly enjoyed their stay in Dublin, their three games and their attendance at the memorable hurling All Ireland semi-final between Dublin and Cork.
