Out and About: What is On Today

Forecast today is for cloudy but mostly dry. There are a few showers around but hopeful there will be no major interruptions to play. Apart from the four ICS/NC semi-finals there are 19 OC matches scheduled and a number of youth games.

Matches to watch out for include:

YMCA II v Merrion II at Claremont Road. An important match for Merrion who need to win to keep pressure on leaders Leinster II [but since they are nearly 30% points behind more likely] and maintain a distance from third placed Pembroke II. YMCA on the other hand need a win to get out of the relegation zone.

There are a couple of matches in D4 mainly affecting the bottom half of the table. Knockharley [away to Dundrum] are in third place and could still make a run for promotion. But they are a good way behind and need every point that they can take.

Longford have lost their mantle on invincibility over the past couple of weeks. Today they take on Merrion IV in confident mood after their Middle Cup win. Could be a tight contest.

The three top teams are in action in D6. Leaders Castleknock take on their closest rivals Railway III in a match that could go a long way to deciding the outcome of the league. In the meantime Malahide III are waiting in the wings for any slip up and will be expecting points from their game with Sandford who are at the foot of the table.

A key match in D10 sees Clondalkin [who are just behind leaders Greystones II] take on Dundalk who are lying third. Halverstown are unbeaten in D13 and have a chance to extend their run v Malahide V. And the leaders of D15, Tyrrelstown, are also in action - this team v Merrion VIII.

As always if anyone is at the games please send in the scores and, most important, the final result. If you aren’t on Twitter you can send in via text message to the Cricket Leinster mobile number: [087-2780309]
