Division – 15

Top Appearances

Civil Service had an amazing core of 6 players who between them played 68 games, or put another way, these six players played together for 11 of their 12 games. Consistency works.

Most Fifties

35 fifties were recorded by 23 players. These are the players who scored more than one. Congratulations are probably due to the groundsmen of Balbriggan, Civil Service and Clontarf. Grounds with cut outfields produce the best innings, don’t they?

  1. Colm Reilly Balb                 4
  2. Munir Khan Civil                 3
  3. R Tariq Tarf                 2
    B Makin                                Tarf                 2

    A Tantas                               Balb                 2
    N McGuire                          Rush               2

Top Innings Score

Rush’s Player Unregistered tops this table, making us wonder who is this anonymous star?

  1. P Unregistered Rush               136
  2. M Hughes Ddlk                121
  3. P Jonker Grey               110*

Most Ducks

91 players shared 135 ducks. 32 of them were shared between 10 batsmen.

  1. Barry Kenny Tarf                 4
    S McDermott                     Ddlk                4
  2. N McGuire Rush               3
    J Kelly                                    Tarf                 3
    G McKeever                       Ddlk                3
    G Armstrong                      Ddlk                3
    Gearoid McCormack       Rush               3
    J Stewart                             Grey               3
    C Devine                              Rush               3
    P Keating                             Phoe               3

Most Overs Bowled

10 players passed 50 overs, but the hardest working bowlers were:

  1. J Keeler Balb                 3
  2. M Syfuzzaman Khan Civil                 70
  3. G Armstrong Ddlk                4

Most Five Wicket Hauls

No-one managed to record more than one 5 wicket haul, but 5 bowlers managed it once.

  1. S Livsey Civil                 1
    R Tariq                                  Tarf                 1
    Munir Khan                        Civil                 1
    G Armstrong                      Ddlk                1
    T Dempsey                         Phoe               1

Most Wickets

Overall point winner also tops the wickets taken, albeit by the slimmest possible margin.

  1. Munir Khan Civil                 20
  2. J Keeler Balb                 19
  3. G Armstrong Ddlk                18

Best Bowling Analysis

Some of the provinces best bowling figures came in this division with Munir Khan’s province best figures unsurprisingly topping the table here.

  1. Munir Khan Civil                 8-5
  2. R Tariq Tarf                 6-11
  3. S Livsey Civil                 6-24

Best Bowling Averages

  1. Philips of Dundalk did take one wicket without conceding a single run and so tops this table. A special mention here for Munir Khan who not only took 8-5, but also took a further 12 wickets for just 135 runs for an average of just 7.00. The players below P. Philips took only 2 wickets each.

P Phillips                                              Ddlk                0.00

K Waterman                                       Ddlk                2.50

P Choudhary                                      Grey               3.00

Most Catches

244 catches were held in division 15 with the leaders being:

  1. A Tantas Balb                 10
  2. Munir Khan Civil                 8
  3. J Keeler Balb                 7
    G Armstrong                      Ddlk                7

Most Stumpings

Dave Nugent demonstrated his lightning reflexes, accuracy and agility the most in effecting a division leading 4 stumpings, twice as many as the next keeper. Perhaps Civil Service had a surplus of spinners or slow bowlers, but I like to picture Mr. Nugent standing up to his pace attack and snaring a victim or two that way. I am sure he would like to see that too.

  1. Dave Nugent Civil                 4
  2. N McGuire Rush               2
  3. A Tantas Balb                 1
    Gurjeet Singh                    Merr               1
    A Gilbride                            Tarf                 1

Division 15 will probably bid farewell to Civil Service next season. Dave Nugent and Munir Khan will be displaying their talents in a higher league. I suspect we shall see their names appearing again no matter the division.
