Cricket Leinster is pleased to announce the composition of the Board of the Leinster Cricket Union. This is a further step towards improved governance in the province in preparation for the coming years.
The Board will consist of the following Directors: Henry Tighe, Joe Clinton, Siobhan McBennett, David Drane and Eddie Lewis (Directors), Meena Baskarasubramanian and John Heavey (Independent Directors), Mary Sharp (as Honorary Secretary), Peter Twamley (as Chair of Finance) and myself (as President).
I would like to welcome the new faces as well as those who are involved with Cricket Leinster already. We have tried to ensure that there is a broad representation on the Board including those representing development, youth, woman’s cricket, players and officials. In the selection, we also wanted to have Directors with an understanding of the dynamics and challenges of the newer clubs, which is particularly important as the game grows.
The Board will be meeting in the coming weeks with the transfer from the Executive Committee to the Board over the summer following the registration by the Company Registration Office.
Many thanks to those who have contributed to the process to date. I look forward to working with the Board and Philip Smith, our General Manager, to help cricket and the clubs in the province to develop.
Derek Dockrell
President
