Balbriggan 3 won their first ever T20 crown, and their fourth ever piece of Cricket Leinster silverware, when they beat Lucan 1 by 19 runs on July 22nd.

The thirty seven match competition started with a group stage, before progressing to a knock out round from the quarter finals onwards. Balbriggan's path to the final involved group stage wins over Clontarf 5 and Castleknock 3, before a quarter final group stage saw further wins over Adamstown 3 and Phoenix 4. The mammoth route to the final was completed by a 8 run won over Tyrrelstown 1.

Lucan were still looking for their first silverware as a club, and their route to the final involved wins over Slieve Bloom 1 and Bagenalstown 2, and knock out wins over AIB 1 and Clondalkin 1.

The final itself saw great performances from many players. Adam Tantas (43) and Noman Maqsood (36*) got Balbriggan to a handy 150-9, before Lucan refused to lie down, and despite the wickets falling, they only fell just short, with Amardeep Dhiman and Shaikh Jawaduddin putting on 38 for the seventh wicket, before just coming up short.
