Weekend’s top performers move up in Div 1 averages

The weekend's Leinster Senior Cup quarter finals saw some big performances with bat and ball, with five centuries being recorded, a hat trick, and three other bowlers taking five wickets in an innings.

It's still very early in the race to the Autumn's Cricket Leinster awards dinner, but all the major contenders are establishing themselves on our leader boards.

Highest Batting average in Division 1 - Marchant Cup (current qualification - 150 runs)

Qualification has been moved up to 150 runs, which allows last week's leader to retain his number one spot. Adrian D'Arcy added another 37 unbeaten runs at the weekend, as Clontarf closed out their match against North County. It means D'Arcy has now scored 151 runs without being dismissed.Ireland u19 skipper,  Jack Tector's phenomenal start to the season continues. He scored 135* for YMCA against Malahide (his second century), and he nows stands in second place with 317 runs at 105.67. His YMCA team mate, Albert van der Merwe completes the top three with 190 runs at 63.33.

Lowest Bowling average in Division 1 - O'Grady Cup (Current Qualification - 8 wkts)

Jono Cook of Pembroke took 3-10 from only 13 balls, as he went through the Terenure tail on Saturday. However, with only Irish qualified players eligible for Division 1 and 2 awards, the leading contender is Alex Cusack, with 12 wicets at 12.67 - the weekend wasn't the most productive for the Clontarf and Ireland star, he only took 1-52 against North County. Another Clontarf player, Conor Kelly, moves up to 5th, after he took 5-40 in the same match.

Most Catches by a fielder in Division 1 -  Solomon Cup

The leaderboard for most catches for a fielder remains congested. Muhammad Jumain Amin (Cork County) is the leader with five catches, with Simmi Singh (YMCA), in second place with four. There are a further 11 players with three catches each.

Most dismissals by a wicket keeper in Division 1 - Hopkins Cup

Three wicket keepers are pulling away from the pack in the Hopkins Cup table. The leader is Clontarf's Robert Forrest, who has amassed 12 dismissals (11 catches and 1 stumping) in only five matches. Lorcan Tucker (Pembroke) is just behind with 10 (7 ct, 3 stmp) with Malahide's Fintan McAllister in third with 8 dismissals (4 ct, 4 stmp)

Leading allrounder in Division 1 - Samuels Cup (Qualification 300 points)

The allrounders award, the Samuels Cup has strong presence from wicket-keepers, with Lorcan Tucker (Pembroke) the leader, and Robert Forrest (Clontarf), his nearest eligible rival. Jack Tector is the third highest eligible player, which leads one to think that it has not been a season so far for bowlers!
