The concluding fixture in this year’s CL Under 23 District Cup competition is scheduled to take place at Oak Hill on Monday next, 22nd June.

Based on results across all previous fixtures, this match is de facto a ‘Final’ in that the winners will leave Oak Hill on Monday evening as the 2026 Champions.
South Leinster will be looking to take home the trophy for the first time whilst North Leinster will have happy memories from this time last year at Oak Hill when they edged out Dublin University in a tight contest to become champions for 2025.

As is customary, the Siggins Trophy and medals will be presented by Ger Siggins of Dublin University CC and Brian Kelleher, CL President for 2026.
The South Leinster team is managed and coached by Kenny Carroll and Nicky Kenny whilst Barry Grimes and Andrew Poynter oversee the North Leinster squad.
The South Leinster side for Monday is littered with Premier League cricketers, and have seen some remarkable performances so far in the competition. Danny Forkin’s unbeaten 140 set up a brilliant win in their 50 over fixture against Dublin University, whilst the skipper Mark Tonge was central to a 1-run victory in the first T20 between these sides in Sydney Parade, when he made 47 and took 3/30 in a nail-biting tie.

Tonge is joined in the side by two Leinster CC team-mates in the shape of Luke Horgan and Tristan de Beer, whilst Forkin is one of two brothers selected from Merrion, joined by off-spinner Peter in the XI.

That quintet is joined by six Railway Union players, including wicket-keeper Bruce Whaley, left-hander Rob O’Brien, all-rounders Connor Walden & Srihan Karpe, as well as leg-spinner Johan George and seamer Farman Afridi.

North Leinster meanwhile come into this game with the psychological upper hand having beaten South Leinster comprehensively on Monday evening.
Muzamil Sherzad has been in the runs in both of the side’s wins this season, making 49 in their T20 victory in College Park, as well as an unbeaten 33 last Monday in Knockharley, and his aggressive manner could prove key once again here.

He’s supported in the batting unit by brother Yaseen, skipper Adam Doyle, North County’s left-hander John Devane, and Brandon Kruger, whilst there’s a first appearance of the competition for Roxton Payne, who has just arrived at The Hills CC.
Brandon Morris’ off-breaks have been key in wins this season, he claimed 3/22 in College Park in their T20 victory, whilst also bowling three overs to take 2/9 in last week’s fixture. Killian McGrane is another man who has impressed in his spells so far this campaign.

They are joined in the attack by the left-arm seam of Husnain Maroof, and his North County team-mate Muhammad Sherzad who will bowl off-breaks, whilst both of the Sherzad brothers have bowled economical spells in this competition with their right-arm seamers.
