Because of pressure with dates when determining the fixtures programme, the Alan Murray Cup Finals day date of 9th August was clashing with a Leinster Lightning Interpro fixture. This was obviously less than ideal and now looking at the teams likely to be in the contest would be likely to be seriously affected.
Accordingly it has been decided in consultations with the LCU Officers to reschedule matters as follows.
The final will now take place in Pembroke C.C. on Friday 14th August with a 5.00 pm start.
A semi-final draw has taken place and resulted as follows:
Pembroke v Winner Northern Section
Runner-up Northern Section v Merrion
These matches to be played on the grounds of the first named teams on evenings between Friday 31st July and Monday 10th August inclusive - precise dates to be agreed by the clubs concerned - starting time 6.00 pm but the clubs may agree an earlier time should they wish.
It is important that these dates be sorted as soon as the Northern Section is finalised on Thursday next.
Regulations: The regulations for all these matches will be as for the Section matches with the following exceptions.
a)Start times as above.
b)The provisions of Finals Day regulations 6.5 to 6.7 will apply for the resolution of ties.
c)In the semi-finals, if there is a complete washout i.e.the teams not having travelled, the game may be refixed within the above timescale. Should this game also be a complete washout, the matter will be referred to the OCC.
