  3. Last weekend of scheduled matches
19th September 2015 by Eddie Lewis

Last weekend of scheduled matches

So we come to the final scheduled weekend of the season. At this point, and subject to final Open Competition Committee [OCC} confirmation, most of the title, promotion and relegation issues have been resolved. But there are still a few matters to be decided.

D3 Merrion II take on Leinster II in Anglesea Road in D3 tomorrow. Merrion need two points to take the title, over Clontarf II.

D5 Mullingar have two games this weekend, [v Railway Union III / Home and v Malahide III / Away]. The key encounter is that against Railway today who are also in the frame for the second relegation place. A win for Railway settles the matter. If Mullingar win then the outcome remains open into the final matches.

D6 Not officially confirmed but it would appear that Knockharley are the winners.

D7 In D7, Wexford Wanderers are trying to ensure that they stay above Laois II and avoid relegation. Today they take on Merrion V [who are confirmed as division champions]. If Wexford lose then there will have to be a final shoot-out between themselves as Laois II who are currently 4 percentage points below them.

D8 The second relegation spot is still officially open but it looks like Wicklow County are down along with already relegated Civil Service II

D9 Adamstown II and North County IV are promoted and if Adamstown win today against The Hills III they will become league champions. If Adamstown lose then a final match between North County and Sandyford II may be required. Sandyford are also in action today against Greystones II and they need to win to keep their chance of avoiding relegation alive. If Sandyford lose but get bonus points they can still avoid relegation in a final refixed match against North County. Phoenix IV have finished their season and are watching Sandyford’s fate with interest.

D11 Scorecard yet to be submitted but it would appear that Pembroke V are safe and Rush III are down.

D13 North Kildare III take on Dundrum III tomorrow to see if they can keep their promotion prospects alive. Matches yet to be refixed will determine the top places and the championship.

D14 Leinster VII have one match to play [v Adamstown IV / Away - Sunday] and need to win to retain top spot.

D15 This weekend will see the final position, the second relegation spot determined. Rush IV are in worst position so need to win away to Dundalk II to catch either Greystones [who take on already demoted Merrion VIII] and Clontarf VI.
