  3. Grassi’s 5 catches the highlight in Division 4

Grassi’s 5 catches the highlight in Division 4

With only one Division 4 game played this week - and that in a league that is only a third of the way through the season - means that there is little change to this week's averages.

That one match was a low scoring affair, with Dundrum 1 reduced to 168 all out by North County 2.  Abilhash Sukumaran top scored with 36, with the only other Dundrum player on the batting table scoring 21. The wickets were shared around by North County's bowlers, with Shane Bertam taking 3-20, his best ever bowling for North County 2.

What should have been a stroll for North County, turned into a nightmare as at 99-2, Nathan Rooney was dismissed for 38, and the last eight wickets fell for 48 runs as JK Pillai took 5-34, his best figures for Dundrum 1. That win lifted Dundrum into 3rd place, with the top four of Malahide 2, North County 2, Dundrum 1 and Civil Service 1 pulling away from the bottom four. However, it must be said that Greystones 1 are lurking in 7th place, having only played two matches!

Highest Batting average in Division 4 - (current qualification - 100 runs)

Despite the season moving into July, only six players in Division 4 have scored more than 150 league and Senior 2 Cup runs. So qualification stays at 100 runs, with little change from last week. Naill McGovern's average moves from a very impressive 116.67 to a still pretty decent 89.00.

Most dismissals by a wicket keeper in Division 4

Jamie Grassi took five catches in the match at the weekend, and catapults himself into first places in the Division 4 wicket keeping. It is only the 12th instance of a keeper taking five catches in a match since we started keeping full stats in 2011. Nic Pretorious (The Hills) and Neil Rock (Rush) have both taken six.
