Craig Senior’s Fantasy Cricket - Week 2

Fantasy League Update #2

Summer arrived last weekend and cricket was played all over Leinster. New leader is Jack McGee of Rush who has become the first and so far the only player to pass 400 points. Jack’s points come from 12 wickets, 117 runs, one catch and playing seven games. Jack is one of only 4 players, from four different clubs to have played seven games. Last week’s leader, Lorcan Tucker, has fallen to 6th place.

With the National Cup and Bob Kerr All-Ireland Cup games taking place last weekend and not counting towards these figures, a lot of first team players would not have had games and this has given opportunities to other players to push themselves up through the tables.

The new starring system will also have an effect as teams in the lower divisions can only play one from below the line. Seems such a small change to the regulations, but is already having an effect on teams being given walkovers and weakened teams being put onto the field.

Well that’s it for this week. Remember that these figures only reflect scorecards entered to the LCU website, so if your figures are not correct by your reckoning, that is probably why. For instance I notice that the game, Pembroke versus Balbriggan is not included. Perhaps because they were all out for 36, or perhaps because the result hasn’t been submitted. However this result will be reflected and included in next week’s figures.
