An excellent unbeaten 82 from Philippe le Roux saw the skipper the star of the show for the Leinster Lightning Bolts this afternoon, as he guided the side from the brink of defeat to a 2-wicket win, sharing a fine unbroken stand with Dan Murray for the 9th wicket.

Having won the toss earlier in the day, the Bolts produced a strong comeback effort having fielded sloppily at the beginning of the day, however when Hassan Shahid was dismissed, the score fell from 209/3 to 250 all out, thanks to fine efforts from Yaseen Sherzad who claimed 4/21 in his 6 overs.
The Bolts got off to a flier themselves, Bruce Whaley continuing his good form with 44 from just 32 balls, however when he was dismissed with the score on 79, the hosts themselves lost four wickets for just 11 runs and were right on the brink. Le Roux shared stands in the 30s with both Sherzad and Ethan Marshall, however at 179/8, the side were once again in trouble.
Dan Murray joined the skipper at the crease, and the duo played sensibly throughout, even negotiating some late rain as le Roux's excellent unbeaten innings saw them putting on 75 for the 9th wicket, as Murray too finished unbeaten on 24.

That means that the Leinster Lightning Bolts have concluded their final Future Series fixture and been confirmed as Champions for the 2026 season.
Well done to Philippe le Roux who has captained the team throughout and to Andre Botha, Barry Grimes & Mick Cotter who have overseen the pathway teams to this success.
