  3. CL HUNDRED BALL BUSINESS LEAGUE SEMI-FINALS (23/24 JULY)
21st July 2025 by Cricket Leinster

CL HUNDRED BALL BUSINESS LEAGUE SEMI-FINALS (23/24 JULY)

Following several weeks of inter-company team games in the CL Hundred Ball Business League (HBBL), we have now reached the semi-final stage as follows:

Wednesday 23rd: Ericsson vs SAP (6.30pm, Railway Union CC, Park Avenue)

Thursday 24th: Accenture vs EY (6.30pm, Civil Service CC, Phoenix Park)

Based on the semi-final line up, we now know that there will be a new name on the HBBL trophy with Deloitte Ireland having won the tournament in each of the first two years (2023 and 2024).

The HBBL competition has expanded year-on-year since inception with 17 teams having competed in this year’s version across four groups. The winners of each group have now progressed into the semi-final stage.

Each of the 4 teams will be playing for a place in the Grand Final which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday next, 30th July at Terenure CC when the CL President will be on-hand to present the medals and the overall trophy to the 2025 Champions.

Athlone-based Ericsson have progressed from Group B having seen off stiff competition from both Amazon and Sogeti. Ericcson will play SAP who progressed to the semi-final stage having pipped the reigning Champions (Deloitte) as winners of Group A whilst remaining unbeaten throughout the group stage.

The second semi-final will be a battle of two titans of the management consulting world as Accenture and EY both emerged unbeaten from Groups C and D respectively. Special mention to Gresham House who finished just two points behind Accenture with three solid wins.

Good luck to all four teams as they complete the semi-finals this week and thanks to all our host clubs this year including Railway Union, Civil Service, Terenure, Athlone, Kilkenny, Adamstown and Clondalkin – it is very much appreciated.
