  3. Youth Cricketers at the top of club cricket [D2]
3rd August 2014 by Eddie Lewis

Youth Cricketers at the top of club cricket [D2]

Given that there is an extra team involved it is perhaps a little surprising that the number of youth players who have competed in D2 is one less than for D1 [i.e. 33]. The clubs who have youth players at this level [excluding those who have played in D1 match and are already included] are Pembroke [7], Phoenix [5], Leinster [4], Malahide [3], Rush [3], Cork [2], DU [2], Merrion [1] and Balbriggan [1].

In terms of batting there is one century recorded by Fiachra Tucker [108*] of Pembroke and seven 50s. George Deans and Cameron Shoebridge from Malahide have played the most matches [11]. The top run scorer is Stephen Doheny of Rush with the Anders brothers, Rory [236] and Tom [210] the only two others to make over 200 runs. Tucker heads the batting averages.
