  3. Youth Cricket in 2013 – 31st July
1st August 2013 by Brian O'Sullivan

Youth Cricket in 2013 – 31st July

After last week we now have all three qualifiers for the Youth All Ireland series – YMCA at U11 and U13 and Clontarf at U15. The only definite pairing so far is at U15 where Clontarf will have to travel to Bready.

There are three Cup finals this week.

The U11 Girls Clarissa Cup final between YMCA and The Hills which was washed out last Thursday has been rescheduled for noon on Thursday in The Vineyard and will be followed at 5 pm by the U15 Leinster Union Cup final between the same two clubs.

The Boys U11 Plate Tolan Cup final between Old Belvedere and Clontarf is being played at Cabra on Friday at 6 pm.

The Girls U17 Cup final date clashes with the trip to Malvern and is now likely to take place on Thursday 22nd August.

With only 36 results from the 21 leagues it was a disappointing week but I realise the weather deteriorated last week.

Boys Leagues

U11A – Only one result in moves Pembroke to joint second with Phoenix behind winners YMCA.

U11BN – The only result here moves Phoenix closer to Malahide at the top.

U11BS – With five games played YMCA lead from Leinster and Old Belvedere with the rest virtually out of contention.

U11CN – Three games put Adamstown into the lead ahead of Clontarf and Malahide.

U11CS – One win puts Greystones third behind Leinster and YMCA.

U13A – Two results here put Pembroke on top but they have played two more games than YMCA who are still unbeaten. Leinster are now third.

U13BN – No results this week leave Clontarf and Rush joint top.

U13BS – Leinster now lead  from YMCA and Railway Union.

U13C -  No results so everyone still in the hunt.

U15A – With three results and many games outstanding Phoenix and Rush are top with Terenure in third place.

U15BN – The Hills lead from Civil Service and Clontarf.

U15BS – Leinster are now in second place behind YMCA.

U171 –  North County lead from Merrion and Rush.

U172 – Pembroke and YMCA are now joint top.

U173 – Also no change here with Midlands and The Hills the only winners.

U19N – Again there is no change here with North County on top.

U19S – Each club has one win.

Girls’ Leagues

U11 – Pembroke are leading from The Hills who have lost their unbeaten record. Leinster and Malahide have made up some ground.

U13  - YMCA are comfortably ahead, unbeaten and lead from Merrion and Rush.

U15 – The Hills are well in the lead here.

U17 – Rush/Malahide lead from Leinster.

Boys’ Cups

U11 – YMCA beat Pembroke by 8 wkts in the final.

U13 – YMCA beat Merrion by 7 wkts in the final.

U15 – Clontarf beat North County by 102 runs in the final.

Girls’ Cups

U11 – The Hills beat Clontarf in the final.

U13 – YMCA will play The Hills in the final at The Vineyard on Thursday 1st August at 12 noon.

U15 – The Hills will play  YMCA in the final at The Vineyard at 5 pm on Thursday 1st August.

U17 – Malahide/Rush will play Leinster in the final in Malahide on Thursday 22nd  August.
