At Tyrrelstown CC, we are proud to be an important part of the wider community, providing a cricket club to all the people of Tyrrelstown and the wider catchment area.
In March 2025 the club launched the ‘Women & Girls Active in Cricket’ programme, supported by Cricket Leinster and Fingal Sports Council. In the first few sessions, we had around 5 women attending then word quickly spread and by end May the numbers increased significantly to 20-25 women and girls participating on a regular basis.

The majority of women and girls were playing cricket for the first time and quickly developed the basic skills to be able to play the game in a fun and friendly environment open to all ages and abilities.
During the summer of 2025 we have continued to provide weekly coaching to this group and have now established our first female cricket team playing friendly social matches against other clubs across Cricket Leinster. This has enabled our players to further develop their skills in a match environment.

We plan to continue to develop our ‘Women & Girls Active in Cricket’ programme, eventually progressing to hard-ball competitive league cricket whilst continuing to attract new members to join and play for social fun.
Tyrrelstown CC really appreciates the €1,000 grant received from the Cricket Leinster Inclusion Fund in memory of Paul Reynolds and we are using this funding for a new kit bag (keeper kit, pads, gloves, helmet), new equipment (bats, balls, training aids) and coaching to help grow and develop the Women & Girls cricket team.
We are proud of our efforts so far and committed to developing a sustainable female cricket programme at Tyrrelstown.
