The Sherwin O’Riordan sponsored Leinster Lightning have made just one squad change for their penultimate fixture of the 2025 season with the return of David Delany (Clontarf) to strengthen the team with both bat and ball.

Things didn’t go to plan last week at The Mardyke when the Munster Reds leapfrogged Leinster to go top of the IP50 table.
With Barry McCarthy, Josh Little, Fionn Hand and David Delany all unavailable for last week’s trip to Cork, the seam attack struggled and in doing so, Munster amassed nearly 300 which proved beyond the Lightning on the day. This was despite solid contributions from Tim Tector (42), Chris De Freitas (27), George Dockrell (28) and skipper Lorcan Tucker (63). Gavin Hoey (27) then tried to rescue it with the tail however Munster ultimately prevailed by 27 runs.

Whilst McCarthy, Hand and Little remain sidelined by injury, Delany’s return will allow Andre Botha added depth in what is a crucial fixture at this advanced stage of the competition.
