  3. THE BATTLE OF THE LEINSTERS AT KENTSTOWN (MONDAY 15.6.2026)
14th June 2026 by Cricket Leinster

THE BATTLE OF THE LEINSTERS AT KENTSTOWN (MONDAY 15.6.2026)

The CL Under 23 District Cup competition is close to conclusion with just two fixtures remaining - a T20 game on Monday evening in Knockharley and a 50-over match at Oak Hill on Monday 22nd June.

As the table stands, the T20 game is a must-win fixture for North Leinster who need points from both remaining games to over-take both Dublin University and the South-siders for the 2026 Siggins Trophy.

As you would expect at this stage of the tournament, bothmanagement teams have assembled a strong sides for this crucial T20 as below:

NORTH LEINSTER VS SOUTH LEINSTER

T20 FIXTURE, STARTING 5.00PM IN KENTSTOWN, CO MEATH

NORTH LEINSTER U23

Adam Doyle (Malahide, Capt)
Matthew Langan (Malahide, Wkt)
Aabis Mirza (Knockharley)
Brandon Kruger (Knockharley)
Muzamil Sherzad (The Hills)
Yaseen Sherzad (The Hills)
Killian McGrane (The Hills)
Muhammad Sherzad (North County)
Brandon Morris (North County)
John Devane (North County)
Ruan Strauss (Balbriggan)

SOUTH LEINSTER U23

Mark Tonge (Leinster, Capt)
Seb Dijkstra (Merrion)
Bruce Whaley (Railway Union, Wkt)
Jaagrat Srivastasa (Railway Union)
Connor Walden (Railway Union)
Kathan Shah (Railway Union)
Harry St Leger (Pembroke)
Sidharth Biju (Adamstown)
Srihan Karpe (Railway Union)
Daniel Forkin (Merrion)
Ethan Clarke (Pembroke)
Shravon Biju (Adamstown, 12th)

North Leinster will know that a win in Knockharley, followed up with a victory in the final 50 over game in Oak Hill on June 22nd, would see them retain their crown in a similar fast-finishing style as last term.

Equally, South Leinster are in the driving seat, and a win in the T20 format will see them confirmed as Champions for 2026.

As is customary at this stage, the Siggins Trophy and medals will be presented to the winners by Ger Siggins (after whom the trophy is named) and Brian Kelleher (CL President for 2026).

You can follow all the action on the CL Match Centre with a full report afterwards published on our website.

South Leinster lead the table going into the final two games

North Leinster know they must leave Kentstown with a win!
