There are a number of additional players who will be included as we progress through the summer as part of an extended squad. Many of these players will also represent Leinster Bolts in the Future Series.

From a Leinster perspective, the CL Under 23 District Cup competition is also an important part of the pathway to the higher representative levels with teams representing South Leinster, North Leinster and Dublin University.

Our thanks as always to David O’Riordan and James Sherwin at Sherwin O’Riordan Solicitors for their ongoing sponsorship support of Leinster Lightning and Leinster Bolts.

Leinster Lightning has dominated the IP competitions since they were reconstituted in 2013 and last year’s success was their 10th time as IP50 Champions in the 13 years of the competition. It was also their 6th double (IP20 & IP50) despite the continued reallocation of many CL players to the other PU teams.

Leinster Lightning will begin their 2026 campaign when they are scheduled to participate in the first IP20 festival against North-West Warriors on Tuesday 2nd June in Bready.

The first home fixtures will be hosted at Sydney Parade on Tuesday 16th June (versus Northern Knights) and Wednesday 17th June (versus North West Warriors). Both games will take place at 3.30pm each afternoon.

SHERWIN O'RIORDAN LEINSTER LIGHTNING WERE DOUBLE WINNERS AGAIN IN 2025

With the reduced number of competing teams, there are two home IP20 and two home IP50 matches as follows:

Tuesday 16th June Leinster Lightning v Northern Knights (IP20, 3.30pm, Sydney Parade)
Wednesday 17th June Leinster Lightning v North West Warriors (IP20, 3.30pm, Sydney Parade)
Tuesday 7th July Leinster Lightning v Northern Knights (IP50, 10.45am, Sydney Parade)
Thursday 9th July Leinster Lightning v North West Warriors (IP50, 10.45am Sydney Parade)

Our thanks to James Sherwin and David O’Riordan (Sherwin O’Riordan Solicitors) for their ongoing sponsorship support of the Leinster Lightning and Leinster Bolts, it is very much appreciated.
