On the penultimate weekend of the season, Clondalkin 2 won the Minor 2 Cup, with a dominant win over Finglas 1. It was Clondalkin's first cup win, and second trophy after the 2017 Whelan Cup.

The Clondalkin bowling attack won the match, after making 166 from their 40 overs. Keeper Wahed Firdous top scored with 45, but Finglas must have felt they had a chance of winning a trophy in their first season. But a devastating display, led by stalwart Munir Khan (4-16) saw Finglas collapse to 17-7, 21-8, 30-9 and then 43 all out. Syfuzzaman Khan, who holds the record for the best bowling in the Minor 2 Cup (8-5 in 2014), took 2-11.

Finglas' route to the final was relatively easy, with wins over Greystones 3 (44 runs), AIB 3 (34 runs) and Leinster 7 (61 runs), whereas Clondalkin's path was of the nail-biting kind. In the first round, they were 30-6 chasing 127 against Ashbourne 2; against North Kildare 4 they were 46-4 chasing 89, and then the semi final againbst Bagenalstown 3 saw another scare, with Bagenalstown 3 being 121-8 (chasing 171), but still got to 149.
