  3. PLAYER TRANSFERS (AS AT 23.2.2026)
23rd February 2026 by Cricket Leinster

PLAYER TRANSFERS (AS AT 23.2.2026)

As in all recent prior years, there continues to be a material level of player transfers taking place with almost 150 players having already moved clubs in advance of the 2026 season.

In terms of net transfers in i.e., clubs with more arrivals than departures, the top 10 are as follows:

On the flip-side, the clubs which have experienced the highest net transfers out are as follows:

Some of the player movement reflects developments during the off-season with Tullamore (previously Slieve Bloom) undoubtedly benefiting from securing a permanent home base on the grounds of Tullamore RFC. In addition, with the first team at Knockharley now competing at First Team League level for the first time in 2026, the club is most likely benefiting from the arrival of players looking to play at the higher level.

Knockharley will be playing at First Team League level in 2026

One of the most popular players on the club circuit is the ever-green Ehtesham Ahmed (Shami) who has registered for Knockharley for the 2026 season. His move to the Kentstown club will be his seventh CL club over a long and distinguished club cricket career.

Shami will play for Knockharley this year
