OPEN SENIOR AWARDS UPDATE - AS IT STANDS 12TH AUGUST

With four rounds of fixtures remaining in both the IBI Corporate Finance Premier League & Championship, it's an opportune time to take stock of the state of play in the individual awards stakes.

In each league there are awards for the leading averages in batting & bowling, most dismissals as wicket-keeper, most outfield catches, and the leading all-rounder, and we have updated tables for each below.

BATTING

Premier League - Marchant Cup

Swapnil Modgill leads the way here, with the Merrion man having struck 338 runs at an average of 56.33, that total including four half-centuries. David Delany's 99* at the weekend has put him hot on Modgill's heels, whilst Monil Patel and Tim Tector have both also passed 300 runs.

Swapnil Modgill

Championship - Bruton Cup

Suliman Safi of North County leads the way in the Championship, having gone beyond 450 runs for the season with his second century of the year at the weekend. Rob O'Brien and Eddie Richardson are the next pair on the list, with the batters split by just under 3.5 across their respective averages.

BOWLING

Premier League - O'Grady Cup

Byron McDonough leads the way here for Pembroke, with his 20 wickets costing just 8.9 runs apiece, he's almost 6 runs clear of 2022 winner Amish Sidhu in terms of average, Jeremy Martins of Malahide is the other bowler to have passed 15 wickets averaging less than 20.

Championship - Clarke Cup

Eddie Richardson has taken the most wickets and has the best average in the league, with his 26 costing just 11.73 runs apiece, Bakhtyar Nabi and Nasir Totakhil of North Kildare and Rush respectively have both taken 20 wickets each, whilst Nicolaj Damgaard splits that pair, averaging just 16 with the ball.

WICKET-KEEPING

Premier League - Hopkins Cup

Five keepers have passed eight dismissals so far this season, with Pembroke's Greg Hollins the only one to have reached double-figures in spite of playing the fewest games.

Championship - Satchwell Cup

Last season's winner Luke Whelan leads the way here with 18 dismissals, with Terenure's Séamus Lynch just behind him on 17, Finn McGee of Rush is the other keeper to have passed the 10 dismissal mark.

FIELDING

Premier League - Solomons Cup

Tim Tector of Pembroke leads the way in the outfield catchers in the Premier League, with Monil Patel of Leinster just one behind him. Former winner Greg Ford of Balbriggan has taken 8 catches in just five appearances, however has been side-lined due to injury and looks unlikely to add to that tally.

Tim Tector

Championship - Vincent Cup

Suliman Safi is well clear at the top in the Championship, he's the only fielder to have passed double figures and is 6 catches clear of his closest rival in Railway Union's Ashil Prakash.

ALL-ROUNDER

Premier League - Samuels Cup

It's very tight at the top of the Samuels Cup rankings, with Malahide's Jeremy Martins having jumped to the top over the weekend. He's just five points ahead of Merrion's Swapnil Modgill, whilst Amish Sidhu is only 39 behind the leader. Leinster's Joey Carroll is the other player to have passed the 450 points mark.

Championship - Ellis Cup

Having been top of the tree in the bowlers, and third in the batting averages, it will come as no surprise that Eddie Richardson sits well clear in the Championship standings, with 863 points to his name at this stage. Bakhtyar Nabi is over 150 points back in 2nd place, with Liam McCarthy and Raghav Grover both also having passed the 500 points mark.
