  3. Open Competitions: Second Checkpoint [1]

Open Competitions: Second Checkpoint [1]

As we have [just about] reached the mid point in the season it is time to take another look at the overall performance of clubs in Open Competitions. There are basically two ways of doing this – looking at the Win/Loss ratio across all teams or focussing on league tables and cup performances. Today we look at the Win/Loss ratio.

At the first monthly checkpoint [24th May] there were five clubs that had Win/Loss ratios of between 5/1 and 3/1. These were Lucan, YMCA, Sandyford, Merrion and Wicklow. With a total of 379 matches included in the figures [scorecards come in all the time so the figures may not include some recent results] only Slieve Bloom and Cork County now have such a ratio. Clubs with a 2/1 ratio or better are Halverstown, Knockharley, Lucan, Swords, Wicklow and YMCA. The club with the highest margin of wins over losses is Merrion, followed by YMCA. The results, sorted by Win/Ratio, is set out below.
