The OCC has discussed how we will implement the regulation on no result refixes in Division 1 and 2 in the event of it being needed for matches over the coming weekend.
It is clearly impractical to allow the normal 28 period for the refix to take place. It has been agreed therefore that the following will be the case.
a) The final date for playing a refix is Wednesday 7th September. This therefore will be the date for T20 refixes of any match that needs it. The only exceptions to this will be as follows -
(i) the clubs agree to play a match of between 20 and 50 overs a side (both inclusive) on or before Wed 7th September without this involving the cancelling of any other scheduled fixture of any grade and with the prior approval of the Open Competitions Committee
(ii) the fixtures - Div 1 The Hills v YMCA, Div 2 Malahide v Rush - if there is no result on 3 Sept the clubs concerned may agree to play on a later date than 7 Sept or to take 8 pts each and not make a refixture.
For clarity the following will be the situation with respect to the various other fixtures
Div 1 Railway Union v Pembroke
North County v Merrion
Clontarf v Phoenix a)&(i) above apply.
We understand that as Castle Avenue is free on Sunday 4th, Clontarf and Phoenix are minded to play a full match on that day should it be necessary and that is acceptable.
Div 2 Leinster v Terenure a) and (i) above apply.
Cork County v Balbriggan - Should this be a no result, the refix will a T20 match in Laois on Wed 7th September unless the clubs and Laois agree that it can happen on Monday 5th or Tuesday 6th.
Rush v Balbriggan - Should this be a no result a) and (i) above apply. However should both this and the Cork County v Balbriggan match both give no result, Cork County v Balbriggan should be refixed as above and OCC will address the Rush v Balbriggan refix separately next week.
In order to ensure finishes in these fixtures, the start time for evening T20 refixes will be 4.00 pm. I trust that the above is clear but if you have a query, please contact me.
