IBI CORPORATE FINANCE CHAMPIONSHIP – INDIVIDUAL AWARDS CONFIRMED! (SEPT 16TH)

Following Phoenix CC’s success in the IBI Corporate Finance Championship, and Rush’s dramatic final-day escape last weekend, we are now in a position to confirm the individual award winners for the league for the 2026 season.

Somewhat surprisingly, there’s no outright winners from our league champions, with the trophies spread one apiece among each of the other five contenders in the Championship!

Each of these awards will be presented at the CL Awards Night and Gala Dinner in the Round Room at the Mansion House with tickets available to purchase here;

BRUTON CUP (BATTING)

A qualifying figure of 450 runs sees five players in the running for this trophy, and the match-winning ability of the league champions is pointed to with fourth and fifth placed Shane Getkate and Tyrone Kane sharing three centuries in their respective tallies of 494 and 454 runs. Abid Taniwal made a vital 64 for Rush last weekend, and last season’s winner finishes on 499 at an average of 38.38.

The two players to cross the 500 run mark are Clontarf’s Eoghan Delany, who’s average of 38.77 saw him passing 50 three times including converting one to 100. However, it’s the top run-scorer who had the best average in the league, as Civil Service’s Edson Silva piled up 569 runs at an average in excess of 40 to claim the Bruton Cup for 2026.

CLARKE CUP (BOWLING)

The top five bowlers in the list see North County represented twice, with Eddie Richardson remaining consistent as ever in taking 23 wickets at an average of 26.39, whilst Alan Joseph Mathew claimed 29 victims at an average of 22, his best bowling figures coming on the last day of the season as he took 3/9 against Civil Service. Other consistent performers include Sean McNicholl of Phoenix and Nasir Totakhil of Rush who claimed 22 and 21 respectively.

The winner of the Clarke Cup however comes from Cork County, as their skipper Diarmuid Carey was the only bowler to feature with an average of less than 20. In spite of having missed a portion of the season with a dislocated kneecap, his 13 appearances saw him claiming 22 wickets at an average of just 16.77!

SATCHWELL CUP (WICKET KEEPING)

The Satchwell Cup sees the completion of a swap of trophies between the top two leagues this season, as having claimed the Hopkins Cup in 2025, the leading gloveman in the Championship is Clontarf’s Séamus Lynch, as his 26 dismissals see him four clear of Vivek Singh of Phoenix, with a further gap of 8 back to Rush’s Finn McGee to round out the top three in this category.

ELLIS CUP (ALL-ROUNDER)

In a similar vein to the First Team League, the leading all-rounder here sees top wicket-keeper feature near the top of the list for the Ellis Cup, as Séamus Lynch’s 26 dismissals coupled with his 407 runs give him a total of 927 points from 17 appearances. He’s clear of team-mate Fionn Hand, the seemingly ever-present in this list Eddie Richardson in fourth, whilst Abid Taniwal of Rush is back in fifth on 739.

The winner however is Alan Joseph Mathew of North County, who adds 375 runs to his haul of 29 wickets, giving him a total of 955 points and ultimately he runs out 28 points clear of his nearest rival.

VINCENT CUP (FIELDING)

Finally, there’s a glut of fielders who all claimed 10 catches in the Championship for the 2026 season, with Hedayath Ullah Khogiani and Vijay Adhikari of Civil Service featuring, as well as the Rush duo of Abid Taniwal and Alex Neary.

They are all three behind the eventual winner however, as Rush’s Nathan McGuire claims the Vincent Cup for the 2026 season, with 13 catches in the outfield.
