  3. Jack Tector called in to Lightning squad
30th July 2015 by Cricket Leinster

Jack Tector called in to Lightning squad

The Leinster Lightning selectors have the pleasure in announcing the following squad for the Hanley Energy Inter-Provincial 20-Over Trophy game against the Northern Knights in Merrion Cricket Club on Sunday 2nd August 2015.

John Mooney (Capt-Balbriggan); John Anderson (Vice-Capt Merrion); Eoghan Delaney (Clontarf); Dom Joyce (Merrion); Tyrone Kane (Merrion); Fintan McAllister (Malahide); Kevin O’Brien (Railway Union); Andrew Poynter (Clontarf);  Eddie Richardson (North County); Simi Singh (YMCA);  Max Sorensen (The Hills); Jack Tector (YMCA).

Following a six week break while the 2016 T20 World Cup qualifiers were being held, attention now returns to the Inter-Provincial tournament and the Lightning’s  quest for the 50-over cup, having already secured the T20 title back in mid-June.

There are two changes from the squad which played in that T20 title-winning game, Kevin O’Brien returning having fulfilled his county commitments this season, and we are delighted to announce the addition of YMCA’s & Irish U-19 captain Jack Tector to the squad for the first time – which we feel is just reward for his recent performances this season for both club and country.

This is the Lightning’s second game of the Hanley Energy 50-over series and a win for the Lightning would see us move clear at the top of the table having  beaten the Warriors in our first match in Rathmines back in June.

The action starts in Anglesea Road at 10:45am on Sunday and admission is free.
