Irish Development and U19 teams announced

Cricket Ireland today announced both the Development and Under 19 sides who are in action next week.

The Development side takes on Sussex II at Horsham from August 22-24, with Clontarf all-rounder Andrew Poynter captaining the side. Max Sorenson and Ben Wylie are included in the ranks for the first time, while Peter Connell returns to the international fold.

With George Dockrell on senior Ireland duty, Donemana's Andrew McBrine takes over the captaincy for the European Regional Challenge Series of game against Jersey, also from August 22-24.


The selectors are using the games to take a look at a number of new faces, keen to see as many players in action ahead of the Under 19 World Cup next year in Australia.
