The opening 50 over fixture of the 2026 District Cup takes place this Tuesday (May 26th) in College Park, as South Leinster and Dublin University will face off in a repeat of the first T20 game of the season.

A Rory Betley-powered Dublin University claimed victory in that opening game of the season, however they are without key men in the shape of Betley, skipper Mikey O'Reilly, Ryan Smith and Ahijah Hill.
The side is captained this time out by Donncha Tucker, who will bat in the middle order. The line-up is underpinned by Macdara Cosgrave and Olly Mollins at the top of the order, whilst Don Retty also looks set to bat in the top 3. Yash Bala and Sam Joyce round out the batting unit for the Students.

South Leinster meanwhile come into this game off the back of a thrilling one-run victory in last week's T20 fixture against North Leinster in Sydney Parade.
The side are captained by Leinster CC man Mark Tonge, and he will feature in a strong bowling group that includes Sean O'Brien, and a plethora of spinners including Pembroke left-armer Harry St Leger, Railway Union off-spinner Srihan Karpe and Merrion's in-form Peter Forkin.

The batting unit includes the hard-hitting Bruce Whaley, Merrion's Danny Forkin, as well as Leinster's top-order pair of Tom Johnson and Tristen de Beer. Railway Union all-rounder Connor Walden also features in the middle order, whilst there's a first appearance of the competition this season for Adamstown skipper Sidharth Biju.
