  3. Division 12 - Adamstown 2 have the edge
6th April 2013 by Paul Reynolds

Division 12 - Adamstown 2 have the edge

RSA Division 12

2012 Champion - Greystones 1

2011-12 Top run scorer: S Peiris (Wexford Wanderers) 479 runs at 28.18

2011-12 Top wicket takers: J Anders (Phoenix) 36 wkts at 10.61

As with Division 13, Division 12 in 2012 was dominated by a new team - in this case Greystones. Once again, there is a new team in Division 12 for 2013 - Lucan, who will be playing out of Garda's new ground in St Catherine's Park, Dublin 15.

Both Greystones and Ringcommons had many cricketers from higher levels, and it is thought that Lucan will find their first season in the Cricket Leinster leagues a bit tougher.

Four teams from the bigger Dublin clubs take their place in Division 12, Phoenix 5, Leinster 6, Pembroke 6 and Clontarf 6. It is always difficult to predict how these teams will do. At a guess Clontarf look the stongest of the four, but it has to be said that any of them could win the league - or be relegated! Time will tell.

Dundalk 2 had a tough first year in Division 12, and finished in the bottom two, and may find this year touigh going as well. Swords 2 enter the league for the first time, and may be a decent outside bet for success.

Halverstown 2 finished 2012 in third place in Division 13, and whilst I expect them to hold their own in Division 12, they may not contend, which leaves my tip for the Division 12 title for this year - Adamstown 2.

The Corkagh Park have been steadily growing over the last few years, and are now entering their third team. With their 1st team now playing in Division 8, they may start attracting more players to the club, an dwith an impressive youth set-up, it could be their 2nds that benefit most.

So Adamstown 2 to lift the trophy, with Clontarf 6 chasing them all the way
