Despite the reduced number of teams for year one of the First Team League, it has already proven to be a tightly contested competition with all teams capable of producing a win on any given match day. In fact, the competition went down to the final game of the season with Civil Service defeating Adamstown by 3 wickets to become the inaugural CL First Team League Champions for 2025.

Given the competitive nature of this league, it is not surprising to see that all four CL based clubs have returned individual trophy winners.
FIRST TEAM LEAGUE – BATTING
The top batter award goes to Yash Kalasannavar of North Kildare who amassed over 600 runs across the campaign and a very healthy 57.82 runs per innings. Mick Cotter returned to Terenure ranks this year (after a couple of seasons out) and proved to be a key performer for the Dublin 6W side – his 434 runs coming at almost 50 apiece.

FIRST TEAM LEAGUE – BOWLING
Aamir Bafanda (Civil Service) will collect the trophy for the top bowler at this level having taken 32 wickets for his club at a brilliant average of just 10.63 per wicket which gave him a considerable advantage over his rivals for this award. It is worthy of mention that all five clubs competing in this new First Team League has a bowler in the top 5 listing reflecting strong performances with the ball for each of their clubs. Bafanda was of course the hero for Civil Service in that final decider against Adamstown when he claimed a sensational 7/26 on home soil.

FIRST TEAM LEAGUE – WICKET KEEPING
The top keeper in the CL First Team League for 2025 is Rohil Gulati of Adamstown who finished the season with 18 dismissals (15 catches, 3 stumpings) with Gareth Morgan (following in his father’s footsteps behind the stumps) as his nearest rival, the Terenure keeper accumulating 14 dismissals.

FIRST TEAM LEAGUE – FIELDING
Having won this discipline at Championship level, the Terenure skipper (Donal Lynch) has again scooped this award for his catching in the field – this time at First Team League level. He finished with 9 catches just one ahead of Adamstown all-rounder Prabhanshu Kamal.

FIRST TEAM LEAGUE – ALL ROUNDER
With some fine all-round performances across the First Team League, the stand-out performer was Prabhanshu Kamal (Adamstown) who finished well ahead of any of his rivals with over 800 points derived from almost 200 runs and 31 wickets for the Airlie Park side.
