As everyone full well knows, last week wasn't the most memorable of cricketing weekends. There were a few pockets here and there, where a game was played, and those dry pockets are the ones that have had most effect on this week's Cricket Leinster All Ireland rankings.
The most obvious changes concern Cork County's famous win over Donemana. Donemana slip from 11th to 13th, whilst Cork County are a new entry at 45, having now played the required number of games.
There were not too many other changes, but wins for Clontarf, Pembroke and Bready all saw them move up.
There is one change in the top three, which many will be pondering. If Merrion and YMCA's Irish Senior Cup matches were botih rained off, why have they moved? Well the rankings are a three year rolling average, with more recent seasons counting for more.
So any matches that would have taken place in the period May 3 - May 10 in 2013, 2012 and 2011 would now have less impact on their ranking.
For YMCA, this means that they were getting less points from wins over North County (2013), Merrion (2012) and Phoenix (2011), whilst Merrion were only losing one win (over Phoenix in 2011), along with two losses (The Hills in 2013 and YMCA in 2012).
Although nothing much happened for either club this weekend, their record over the last three years, now just places Merrion ahead
