D3 Railway Union 2 V Phoenix 1
A very low scoring game with Phoenix batting first and most of their runs coming from Helen Caird who scored 26 runs before she was run out by A Callahan/E McAlinden. In reply Railway Union scored 67 for 7 with N. Keneghan putting on a impressive 41 before being run out by O. Martin. Phoenix won by 9 runs
D3 North Kildare 2 V YMCA 2
YMCA posting a big score of 123 in their innings, with top scoring coming from experienced Sharon Smyth who ended up on 49 not out and E Couper being bowled by L Neuman-Jones for 21 and J Bradish being bowled by W Lipson for 20.
North Kildare replied with a score of 84 for 6 wickets, their top scoring coming from W Lipson who was caught by V Shukla of the bowling of J Bradish. M Staunton was the only other batter to make an impact with 15 runs before being run out by M Streek. YM using 9 bowlers to restrict North Kildare chasing their big total and after the 20 overs YMCA 2 won by 39 runs.
Thursday 5th June
D1 Merrion 1 V YMCA 1
Ym won the toss and put Merrion into bat. Cecelia Joyce and Lena Tice got Merrion of to a great start before both being undone by the bowling of Robyn Lewis, going for 33(20) and 38(38) respectively . Hannah de Burgh Whyte came in and with the help of Isobel Joyce 22(14) and Kate McKenna 9(14), got the total to 171 off the 20 , Hannah ending on 42*(35).
Tight bowling from the spin partnership of Elena Tice and Isobel Joyce saw YM all out for 41. Tice ending with 3-10 and Isobel with 3-11. Rachel Delaney also took 2-1 with her 3 overs. Merrion won by 131 runs.
D1 The Hills 1 V Malahide 1
Malahide traveling to the Vineyard were put into bat first. Mary Waldron going very early for just 3 runs after being bowled by Miranda Andrews. Ciara O’Gorman added 13 runs and S O' Carolan-Murphy added just 3, making way for experienced Marianne Herbert who batted through and finished on 40 and at the other end Barbara Mcdonald chipped away and got 17. Malahide finishing on 92.
Malahide only picked up 3 wickets with L Boylan going very early for none, Miranda Andrew and A Mooney doing all the damage and finishing on 36 and 21. S O' Carolan-Murphy picking up the wicket of Miranda and V Fay-Watt+ and A. Mooney saw the Hills home for their 2nd win of the season
D1 Leinster 1 V North Kildare 1
Leinster won the toss and chose to bat first opening with Rebecca Rolfe and Valmai Gee and they posted 133 before loss of wicket. Valmai knocked the ball of every wall at Observatory Lane and finished on a huge 92 not out. R. Rolfe being caught by W Lipson of the bowling of A O'Connor for 41, this was the only wicket in this innings with A Kerrison coming to the crease next and finishing on 15 not out. Wides played their part in this innings unfortunately with North Kildare bowling 25.
North Kildare put up a good chase posting 119 of their 20 overs, Runs coming from J Lowry (32) and L. Small (61), with M Bursey and N Scott Hayward chipping in with a few. Leinster won by 55 runs.
D1 Pembroke 1 V Clontarf 1
Clontarf got off to a great start at Sydney Parade with U Raymond-Hoey getting a quick 35 before being stumped by Meg Kendal of the bowling of Ciara Metcalfe. C Stirling was the only other batter to get into double figures, she finished on 13 not out. Louise McCarthy and Ciara Metcalfe doing the bulk of the damage with the ball and Clontarf finished on 81 for 6.
Pembroke opened again with Meg Kendal and Shauna Kavanagh and this opening pair saw PCC home for no loss and Meg finishing on 45 and Shauna on 35. Pembroke won by 10 wickets.
