  3. Weekend Preview: RCH Division 2
9th June 2018 by Brian Hamilton

Weekend Preview: RCH Division 2

Terenure v Malahide

Malahide are flying at the moment. Unbeaten in four matches having vanquished both their previously unbeaten rivals, Rush and Balbriggan. They travel to Terenure for what should be a routine victory for the away side. Terenure languish at the bottom of the table with 5 points from 5 games. Malahide have 94 from 4 games. With leaders Balbriggan not playing, Malahide require 7 points or better to go top of the table. It sometimes can be all about what happens on the day, but it would be stretching things a little to think that Terenure could find the form to overcome the Ford driven Villagers. Away win likely bar a huge shock.

Cork County v Railway Union

Cork after a week off await the visit of a rejuvenated Railway Union side who have won their last three matches and find themselves in 3rd position. They still haven't played their best, but have found the way to start winning. There is only 5 points between the sides in the table, Railway Union with 53 points from 4 games and Cork 48 points from 4 games. Cork will have targeted their home fixtures in particular for wins. However if Railway can carry on their positive play of recent weeks, they could come out on top. Cork too will fancy their chances and this could be a close match. Railway tipped to just about get home.

Rush v Dublin University

Dublin University travel to Kenure fresh from a heavy defeat by Balbriggan last week. They will need to improve a lot to do something here. However, the wheels have come off the Rush challenge in recent games. Two defeats have seen them slip to fourth. They lost heavily to Malahide last week and will be chomping at the bit to put things to right at home. Dublin University have just two games remaining and will be looking to finish off their campaign with a flourish. However, Rush have a strong squad of players and are tipped to get back to winning ways, in what could be a high scoring game.
