The Leinster Coaches Association (LeinsterCA) is an association under the umbrella of the Leinster Cricket Union, also known as Cricket Leinster. At the moment we consist of the following committee members: Vinny Savino (President); Aideen Rice (Secretary); Paul Delaney (Treasurer); and myself, Naomi Scott-Hayward (PRO).
This year we have run two Child Protection courses which have had a total attendance of just over 40 people from a range of different cricket clubs. We would like to thank Rush CC and Leinster CC for providing the venues, and our own Aideen Rice and Jim Bennett for running the courses. We will also be running a First Aid course on March 23rd, which is fully booked. However, if you are interested in doing a first aid course please contact me at LeinsterCA@gmail.com. If we have a good number of people we may be able to run a second one, or simply be able to help you find out information for a non-LeinsterCA organised course.
Our intention is that we will run 2 Child Protection courses and one First Aid course each year. This will allow our coaches to stay up to date and qualified. As you know it is essential that you stay up to date as an active coach, and they last 3 years.
One of the primary objectives this year is to provide CPD (continous proffessional development) courses to all coaches in Leinster. We will be running our first one in April so please keep an eye out here for information. Our AGM is also coming up shortly, so if you want to have a say please feel free to come along. Non members are more than welcome - hopefully you will join by the end of the meeting!
