U11 Girls Match: Draw on Runs

Today was the first ever U11 Girls North Vs South Leinster match ever to be run by Cricket Leinster. There have been summer camps and pairs matches in recent years that we have run, but never a North Vs South Leinster match for this age group. It was a fantastic day out for all involved and a very exciting match in the end. It went down to the very last ball. South Leinster needed 5 runs off the last ball to win, 4 for a draw. They ran a bye that turned into 4 byes on over throws with a run out on an attempted 5^th run!

Thanks go to the Cricket Leinster Coaches that helped out today with umpiring, coaching and scoring – Diarmuid Lynch, Vanessa Kelada and Naomi Scott-Hayward. A huge thank you to Rush CC who hosted the match – special thanks to the groundsman and the local parents that helped out with setting up the field. Thanks to Anne Forde, from Rush, who provided refreshments for the parents spectating and made sure all were welcome.
