  3. Top run scorers in Open Competitions - June 16th
16th June 2011 by Paul Reynolds

Top run scorers in Open Competitions - June 16th

Another few weeks have progressed in the season, so time to have another look at the top batsmen in the province (in terms of runs scored). Unlike other lists, this one doesn't take any account of standard, so everything is lumped in together.

Tariq Islam of Laois still leads the way, although he has only scored 17 runs in June. Daniel Ashton of Clontarf is in second, but is having an interesting time of it. The season started with scores of 38, 107, 126 and 66*, but since then Ashton has had scores of 0, 0, 79* and 0. If he manages to score a run, he averages 138.

Finishing off the podium is a certain Andre Botha. Similarly, if Andre gets a run, he'll score a hundred - the only bowler to succeed this year is Will Lennon who disturbed Botha's timber for a solitary duck.

The following scorecards hasve still not been submitted, so they are not included:

Merrion 8 vs Dundrum 3 (Div 14)
The Hills 3 vs Terenure 2 (Middle Cup)
Merrion 6 vs Clonee 1 (Middle 2 Cup)
Wicklow County 3 vs Mullingar 2 (Inter Cup)
Wexford Wanderers 2 vs Railway Union 4 (Junior Cup)
Railway Union 2 vs YMCA 2 (Tillain Cup)
Pembroke 3 vs Railway Union 3 (YM Salver)
Dundrum 1 vs Merrion 3 (YM Salver)
Railway Union 4 vs Leinster 6 (Whelan Cup)
