  3. Top run scorers in Open Comps - July 15th
15th July 2011 by Paul Reynolds

Top run scorers in Open Comps - July 15th

Apolgies to all interested parties - a month gap between the last time this table was published.

Plenty of cricket played in the last month, and a change at the top of the leaderboard in the "Most runs at any level Stakes". All a bit of fun, but at the end of the season, one player, and one player alone will be able to say that they've scored more runs than any other in 2011 in OCC cricket.

Tariq Islam of Laois started the season with a bang, including his monumental double century, but has been relatively quiet ever since. Four more players have now joined him in the 500 Club, with another two players shortly to join them (and it should be added that some scorecards are still missing)

Top of the list is Abdullah Hafiz, with 580 runs at 44.62 for Railway Union, mostly scored opening the batting for Railway 3rds. The familiar name of Barry Archer of Balbriggan is in number two spot - 546 at 60.67. Tariq Islam remains in third - 541 runs at the still fairly impressive 108.20

The 500 club is completed by Daniel Ashton (Clontarf) and Alex Mathew (Dundrum). The two who are nearly there are Bryan McDermott (Clontarf) and Andre Botha (Terenure)
