With Paul Reynolds away for the weekend, and the 2015 Division 2 season starting on Saturday, today's Division 2 preview takes a slightly different, more statistical slant.
Using three factors, we attempt to see how the teams in Divison 2 this year will perform. Those factors are
1. Our Cricket Leinster All Ireland Rankings (see here for more details)
2. A ranking based on the average league position over the last three seasons
3. A score based on the ins and outs of the club over the winter
A few observations.
The Hills are the strong favourites to return to Division 1.
Leinster and Phoenix will battle out second place.
The rest will be all be close
YMCA and Dublin University have been difficult to monitor, YMCA due to being a 2nd team (not having an All Ireland ranking and player movements not being as clear), and Dublin University due to the changing nature of their playing squad. They could both do much better than predicted.
