With Dublin University unbeaten after two games, both South Leinster and North Leinster will be looking to get their first win on the board in their head-to-head T20 clash at Park Avenue on Wednesday evening (21st).
The North Leinster team (under the oversight of Barry Grimes) is captained by Cillian McDonnell (Clontarf) and includes representatives from six different North Leinster clubs. Chris De Freitas is included in the match-day squad having proved the match-winner for Leinster Lightning last week when he carried his bat for a brilliant unbeaten 143 off 155 balls (19X4, 4X6).
Meanwhile South Leinster (under the oversight of Nicky Kenny) will field a largely unchanged side from last week’s outing to College Park with Krith Shetty (Adamstown) added to the squad having taken 2-39 in his club’s big win over Laurelvale in the National Cup last Saturday.
Wednesday will be a busy day for both Brian Dunphy and Rob O’Brien who will be the key players for their respective schools (Ardgillan Community College and The High School) when they play each other in the CL Secondary Schools Senior Semi-Final earlier that day.
Brian Dunphy will represent North Leinster in the U23 T20
